Coworking centers: a unique working place
A coworking office is a collaborative work place. As such, the purpose is to combine a serious work ethic and a pleasant atmosphere. Although your members are looking for offices to work in a dedicated environment, they still need to meet people and interact. Coworkers aspire to having a proper office and being part of a community rather than staying home lonely working on their project.
It is thus crucial to arrange the space in the most optimized way… but still make it flexible. Also each one of your members should have enough space to work. There should not be huge discrepancy between the offices, so that your entire members feel treated and considered equally.
The coworking office must-haves
For most of your members, having access to a co-working center is a big deal (…for their work). They will no longer be disturbed by their children, cats or dogs craving for attention! It significantly means the end of hours at a coffee shop praying for a decent Wi-Fi connection. As such, the coworkers will have a certain amount of expectations and will need to have the best working conditions to concentrate. The following list will highlight the key elements not to neglect in the coworking space:
- No wobbly tables,
- Comfortable (suitable for work) chairs,
- Adaptable tables,
- Many electric plugs (to charge phones, computers, etc),
- Internet access and a high quality Wi-Fi connection,
- High quality lighting (day and night).
Add-ons for an even better office!
Although the following elements are not necessary, they are always welcomed by coworking office users:
- A pencil holder (with pens inside),
- A notebook,
- Headphones,
- Screens, keyboards, etc. Some co-workers find it hard to work on their own laptops because the screen might not be big enough, you should try to provide alternatives!
Last but not least
You should provide every new-comer with a welcome pack. It should contain an overall guide to the center (Wi-Fi codes, basic rules, opening hours…), a map of the area around the coworking center. Advice: add tips on where to have lunch or hang out and an USB key with your logo on it!
